At Bethany, our heart beats for family. As movement partners for the new film, “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” we hope to mobilize communities around the country toward a shared vision: Together, we can change the world through family. What happens when a community chooses love?
Coming to theaters July 4, “Sound of Hope” is a stirring narrative inspired by the remarkable true story of the Rev. Bishop W.C. Martin and his wife, Donna. Set in East Texas, the movie chronicles their extraordinary journey as they rally their community to adopt 77 waiting children from the foster care system. It beautifully illustrates the transformative power of family and community, resonating deeply with our mission at Bethany Christian Services to support and strengthen families to care for children facing challenges.
“Sound of Hope” captures the profound impact that love, compassion and perseverance can have on the lives of children in need.
We want to see families strong, supported, and together. But we know there are times when families face challenges — and children need care.
When children enter foster care, our first goal is to reunite them with their families. When that’s not possible, they need individuals and families that can provide a safe place for them to heal and grow.
This film shows what happened when the town of Possum Trot decided to meet this need for children in their community, changing their world through family.
As Bethany seeks to mobilize communities with this powerful message, we invite you to do the same by pre-ordering tickets. As a movement partner of “Sound of Hope,” Angel studios will donate a portion of proceeds back to Bethany when tickets are pre-ordered through July 18 through this site: bethany.org/sound-of-hope/presale
